Saturday Meals and Garden!
Breakfast:
2 local eggs
a couple tablespoons of local 2% milk
cheese from Mom
zucchini from ValuMarket
spinach in a bag (getting gross)
whole wheat flax tortilla!
= breakfast burrito!
and some orange juice
Lunch:
leftovers from yesterday: rice, curry, zucchini, mushroom mix made by Laura
avacado smoothie!
1 avacado
supposed to have 3 tbsp honey, but I'm running out
8 ice cubes
1 banana
1 cup milk
1/2 cup yogurt
Garden!
I finally finished digging up at 9.5 x 6 foot garden plot in my back yard! I bought $18 worth of compost from Breaking New Grounds (a company that collects all Heine Bros. Coffee coffee grounds and composts them in to rich soil!) this morning and mixed it in with my mediocre soil in the back. I shoveled out a path in the middle of my garden, so now I have two 4x6ft plots! I'm looking into path ideas: I have rocks and some wooden landscaping planks, but we'll see. Now to plan out the planting part... can't wait to eat fresh spinach right out of the yard!
eat well,
Rachel
